| I disagree that one needs to appreciate opera to enjoy this movie. There is a lovely scene in the film that shows that music firstly expresses emotion, and the 'teacher' compares opera to rap, explaining that both were initially written for regular people. Whatever one's musical taste, this is a very enjoyable movie that is well written, acted and directed. I, too, was surprised when the end credits rolled to see just how accomplished so many in the cast were, though I really shouldn't have been. It's one I'd definitely recommend. |
