Palin's weaknesses did not cause the Republican party to lose, McCain lost the Presidency because of the failures of Banks, Investment Houses and Real Estate.

I could not understand how McCain fell for this, I was watching very closely that election, at 46 years old and 2 baby twins I was afraid of another George Bush, and when I saw her and then she spoke I really got scared. We Americans can elect some stupid people due to so much ignorance, look at her it was obvious back then she was ignorant and she was leading a state.

When the election campaign was on a couple of friends and myself would get together every four or five days to get youtube up to see if she'd said any more dumb stuff. Then we'd laugh our asses off. Four years later it dawns on me that she was "on 72 year old's heatbeat away", as the film says, from having the nuclear codes. Phew!

I'd love to know what the Obama camp made of her. I think the reason centered on Palin is because she is who McCain's campaign managers chose to be the 'Game Changer' of the title. She is the whole point of the film, surely? She is an easy target because she proved herself to be completely out of her depth, ill-informed, ignorant and slightly ego-maniacal. I think it was a political story - she could have won the election for McCain. As it was she arguably cost McCain the position of the most powerful man in the world. How is that not political?

Unfortunately she represents much of the ignorance of the American people--lack of basic geographical knowledge, no understanding of world affairs and a kind of linguistic arrogance that thinks the world needs to communicate with us and we have no obligation to attempt understanding the other inhabitants of the globe. I'm horrified that she could have been a heartbeat from the presidency of the United States. She appeals to an audience of Americans for all the wrong reasons.

The book was interesting, although imo it was overly-critical of both Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, and less critical of the men. The movie is only centered on Palin's rise and fall in the 2008 campaign. I'm not a fan of Sarah Palin, and relieved that she's not our vice president, and maybe this really is an honest account of what happened to and because of her, but it still felt like it was picking on her and exploiting her weaknesses for sheer entertainment purposes, rather than telling a political story about 'game change'. There were many other interesting stories told in the book, and I have a feeling the movie centered only on her because she's such an easy target. I would have liked to have seen more of the political story going on behind the scenes and less of the personal story. I gave it 3 stars. Ed Harris was great, btw.

If Sarah Palin didn't exist no-one would want to invent her. She's an absolute joke.
