Just got around to watching this remake. Not too bad. Good frights, chills and thrills. Special FX, adequate. Gave this a 4 out of 5. Good night and good luck (save this one for Halloween collection).

Brilliant, wanted to hate it but it re-did it so well. Only week link I thought was David Tennant, he was just to hammy. Colin Farrell is outstanding, the guy that does charlie just felt likie the original charlie- that was a bit weird. If I'm honest its better than the original if I watched them side by side.

Great remake! If you liked the original and prefer your vampires evil and scary instead of sparkling and brooding, then you'll love this. I think I saw a cameo of Chris Sarandon the original 'Jerry', and he's still looking good. Also some other great and/or interesting casting with Toni Collette, Dave Franco (brother of James), Sandra Vergara (sister of Sophia), Imogene Poots, Lisa Loeb, etc. The actors, director and writers all did a great job, esp. David Tennant. The special effects were pretty good, too. This was written by Marti Noxon, btw, a writer and producer on Buffy, Angel, and Mad Men, so I expected it to be funnier, but even if it wasn't gut-busting funny, it was still a great old fashioned monster movie, updated and done well.
