| GPierson, it's okay with me if you don't pay attention to what I write. Different people like different things.
I'm saying that you have a lot of experience watching movies so you probably have a good idea of what you like and don't like without having to go to IMDB.
Your personal opinions are vaild without looking at a bunch of anonymous votes one way or another. |

| I have to disagree. I hope you are joking when you decide whether a film is good or not depending on what everyone else thinks !! You are joking right !
Mamet has done a great job with the dialogue. Val Kilmer has been able to finally let us see his excellent acting abilities. Usually he is stuffed into a stereotypical role and barely able to use his talent. This movie is about the "spartan" or the "good soldier" who is a good soldier, but that doesn't make him any less a human being. This can be a thought provoking film . . . if you think about it! |

| The rating by Imdb.com was 6.7/10 All the rest are 6.0/10 or less. Most are less than 4.0/10. So none are really quality films. |

| Imdb.com rated this movie the highest of all the new ones added by this site so far this year. It was okay. Not as crappy as kenrose led me to believe. It was watchable, true, it was not amazing to any stretch of the imagination, but watchable. |
